Methodology
This page is being written. We only publish figures and details once we have checked them at their source.
We only publish heating oil figures from public sources whose licence allows reuse, such as government statistics and published price surveys. Every figure shows its source, the period it covers, whether it includes VAT, the order size where the source gives one, and the date we last checked it. We never mix two sources, two VAT bases or two order sizes in one series.
We don't copy prices from supplier or marketplace websites, we don't show live supplier prices and we don't publish forecasts. The full sources table, with licences, will appear here once each source has been checked.
